Bilal Brahimi, the winger for Stade Brestois, has been handed sanctions by the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) following his expulsion during the clash against Lorient on March 31.
As a consequence of his actions, Brahimi will be absent when Stade Brestois takes on FC Metz on April 7 in the 28th matchday of Ligue 1.
The 24-year-old Algerian winger received a one-match suspension along with an additional match that is suspended, effectively ruling him out of the upcoming fixture.
This disciplinary action stems from a late incident in the game against Lorient, where Brahimi was shown a straight red card for a trip on Ayman Kari during the dying moments of the match (90+6).
However, Brahimi is set to return to action when Stade Brestois faces Lyon on April 14 in the 29th round of Ligue 1 fixtures.
Despite his suspension, Brahimi has been a regular feature for the team this season, having made 16 appearances in the league.
However, he is yet to open his goal-scoring account and has not registered any assists thus far.
The suspension of Brahimi serves as a setback for Stade Brestois as they prepare for their upcoming fixture against FC Metz.
His absence will be felt by the team, but it also provides an opportunity for other players to step up and fill the void left by the talented winger.
As Stade Brestois aims to secure a positive result against FC Metz, the focus will be on the remaining squad members to deliver a strong performance in Brahimi’s absence.
With the Algerian set to return for the subsequent fixture against Lyon, there will be anticipation for his comeback as Stade Brestois looks to finish the season on a high note in Ligue 1.
