St Mirren add Arsenal winger Ismeal Kabia on season-long Premiership loan

Netherlands and Sierra Leone winger Ismeal Kabia has joined St Mirren from Arsenal Under-21s on loan, giving the Scottish Premiership club a new right-sided attacking option for the 2026-27 season.

The 20-year-old’s move was completed on 15 August 2026, with the loan scheduled to run until 31 May 2027. Kabia is a right winger who was born in Hengelo and has represented both the Netherlands and Sierra Leone by nationality.

Kabia arrives at St Mirren after spending the 2025-26 campaign with Shrewsbury on loan from Arsenal Under-21s. He made 38 League Two appearances during that spell, scoring twice and registering two assists.

His playing time at Shrewsbury followed a return to Arsenal Under-21s in May 2026, after he had initially joined the League Two club in August 2025. The latest move represents another temporary step away from Arsenal’s development structure, with Kabia now set to continue his senior career in Scotland.

Before moving into Arsenal’s under-21 group, Kabia progressed through the London club’s youth system. He joined Arsenal Under-18s from Arsenal’s youth side in July 2022 and moved up to the under-21 team two years later.

Across his recorded appearances in Premier League 2, Kabia has scored three goals and supplied four assists in 25 matches. He has also featured in the EFL Trophy, FA Cup and EFL Cup, as well as youth competitions including the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup.

St Mirren, who compete in the Scottish Premiership, will have Kabia available under the terms of the loan until the end of May. Arsenal Under-21s remain his parent side, with the transfer arrangement including a scheduled return to the club at the end of the season.

Kabia joins St Mirren on loan from Arsenal Under-21s until 31 May 2027.
