Spanish-Moroccan youngster Lamine Yamal negotiating to become highest-paid player at Barcelona

Lamine Yamal INTER

Spanish international of Morocco and Equatorial Guinea descent Lamine Yamal is currently negotiating to become the highest-paid player at Barcelona.

Yamal has established himself as a key member of Barcelona since his debut in 2023 under then manager Xavi Hernandez.

Per reports, negotiations over Yamal’s new contract with Barcelona are not going as smoothly as the club would like. The young winger wants to become the highest-paid footballer at the club before putting pen on the paper for extension.

Yamal is expected to sign a five-year contract until 2030, when he turns 18-years next month.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will include a staggering €1 billion release clause in Yamal’s new contract in an attempt to ward off interest from other clubs.

This campaign, Lamine Yamal has notched up 18 goals and delivered 25 assists in 54 matches across all competitions. He currently plays with the No.19.

Yamal is being considered for the Ballon d’Or award following a standout performance for Barcelona this season. Meanwhile, the prestigious award has been scheduled for September 22, 2025.
