Spanish international of Morocco descent Lamine Yamal has added another accolade to his cabinet after securing the La Liga Young Player of the Season.
Yamal, who also has Equatorial Guinea root beat off competitions from Jude Bellingham, Fabio Silva, Diego Lopez, Arda Güler, Pedri Gonzalez, and Alberto Moleiro to clinch the top award following the closure of the campaign.
The 17-year-old featured in 35 matches in the Spanish championship, scoring 9 goals and providing 15 assists, establishing himself as one of the driving forces behind the Blaugrana’s La Liga campaign.
His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, securing the best under-23 player of the recently concluded season.
Having bagged this award, he will be looking forward to achieving more heading into the new campaign.
Yamal was instrumental on Thursday night when Spain defeated France 5-4 to advance to the finals of the UEFA Nations League.
Having edged out France, the reigning European champions are expected to lock horns with Portugal in the final on Sunday.
