Spanish international of Moroccan descent Lamine Yamal has been sidelined for three-four weeks after picking up an ankle injury.
The 17-year-old suffered a fresh injury when Barcelona succumbed to a narrow defeat against Leganes on Sunday night.
Yamal was spotted limping of the stadium after the match. However, a statement from Barcelona has confirmed the enterprising has been ruled out for at least a month.
“The first team player Lamine Yamal received a blow to the right ankle during the game against CD Leganes on Sunday,” the statement from the club read.
“Tests carried out on Monday have revealed that the player has a grade 1 injury to a ligament in the ankle. The player is expected to be out for 3 to 4 weeks.”
Yamal will not be available when Barcelona take on Atletico Madrid in a crucial encounter on Saturday.
The winger has been directly involved in 18 goals in 21 matches for Barcelona this season – with six goals and 12 assists to his name.
