Spain have confirmed a friendly match with Egypt in Qatar as part of their build up to the next World Cup. The game will be played on March 30 at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
The announcement was made on Monday through the Spanish national team’s official account on X, confirming that the fixture will be part of the March international window. It will be one of Spain’s final tests against a strong African opponent before competitive action resumes later in the year.
Spain and Egypt last met on June 3, 2006, when La Roja won thanks to two goals scored by Raul Gonzalez and Jose Antonio Reyes. That match was played in preparation for the World Cup in Germany and remains their most recent meeting to date.
The friendly against Egypt will come three days after Spain face Argentina in the Finalissima between the European and South American champions at Lusail Stadium.
Egypt will also use the break to face Saudi Arabia too.
