Diego Costa, the center forward for Atletico Madrid, experienced a moment of concern during Sunday’s La Liga match against Getafe (2-0). Despite just returning from injury, Costa almost found himself back on the sidelines after colliding with a post.
After initially missing a penalty, Costa rallied and scored his 26th goal of the season. However, during the celebration, he struck the opposing post and sustained a significant gash on his left shin.
Fortunately, it was determined that the injury was not as severe as initially feared. Atletico Madrid quickly reassured fans via their Twitter account, stating that Costa had only suffered a cut and not a fracture as initially rumored.
