South African international Percy Tau has opened up on his unsuccessful stint with Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker had stints with the Premier League club between 2018 and 2020, but spent most of his time on loan, featuring for Club Brugge, Union Saint Gilloise and Anderlecht.
The enterprising winger had to depart Brighton for Egyptian Al Ahly following an unsuccessful spell at the club.
Speaking in an interview, Tau disclosed he wished he had been given more chance to prove himself at Brighton.
“We were in a similar situation, and of course, there was competition. But I wish I had been given more chances to prove myself, because I never felt like I didn’t belong to this team or that there was any rift between me and the club,” Tau shared.
Percy Tau has played for several European clubs, not just Brighton. He also featured for Anderlecht, Club Brugge, and Union SG. His most recent club was Al Ahli in Qatar, where he made ten appearances and provided four assists.
