Kaizer Chiefs set to unveil new technical team

South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs are set to announce their new technical team following the departure of co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef.

The Soweto giants thrived in the recently concluded campaign after finishing third to secure a place in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.

Following the exit of Kaze and Ben Youssef, Kaizer Chiefs have stormed the market searching for a new technical team.

And according to marketing director, Jessica Motaung, the club is close to unveiling their new technical team for the 2026/27 season.

Meanwhile, Motaung has paid tribute to the outgoing coaching staff for the immense contributions to the club.

“First and foremost, thank you to the coaches and the technical team for the wonderful work that they’ve done, getting us third,” she said.

She added that the club’s leadership is actively shaping its next phase but declined to provide a specific timeline for the announcement.

“And certainly, as we move forward the mandate and the announcements will be made in due course regarding the technical team and where we intend to go,” Motaung explained.

Kaizer Chiefs recently parted ways with their co-coaching setup of Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef after a season that saw the club finish third in the league, a position the management believes can be built upon as they push for silverware.

Motaung stressed that the club’s ambition remains unchanged, insisting that Chiefs are determined to compete at the highest level and challenge for major honours.

“But certainly, Chiefs is a team that is contending for what is on the table and making sure that we continue to rise to get success,” she said.

As part of their preparations for the new campaign, Chiefs also used the Toyota Cup launch to confirm their pre-season plans, which include a fixture against Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League side Scotland FC in July.

The upcoming appointment of a new technical team is expected to be a key moment in shaping the club’s direction ahead of a crucial season, with supporters eagerly awaiting clarity on who will lead the Amakhosi into the next chapter of their rebuild.
