Mahmoud Al-Jazzar on the radar of Al Ahly

Al Ahly have started planning ahead of the January transfer window as the Egyptian giants look to strengthen their defence following the serious injury suffered by Amr El-Gazzar.

The Egyptian giants are assessing their options in the market and have begun compiling a list of defenders who could be brought in during the winter window.

The injury to El-Gazzar has increased the need for defensive reinforcements, with the club’s football management working alongside head coach Hussein Ammouta to determine the best solution.

Al Ahly’s scouting department has been tasked with preparing a detailed report on the defenders who could be available in January, allowing the club to assess potential targets before making a final decision.

One of the names that has emerged on the club’s radar is Mahmoud Al-Jazzar of Al Ahly Bank.

The defender is understood to be among the leading candidates being considered by the Egyptian champions, who could explore the possibility of opening negotiations with Al Ahly Bank over a potential January transfer.

However, no formal approach has been made yet, with the club still assessing several options before deciding which player best fits Ammouta’s requirements.

Al Ahly are expected to continue monitoring the situation in the coming weeks as they prepare their recruitment plans for the second half of the season.

For now, Ammouta’s immediate focus remains on the league, with Al Ahly preparing to face Abu Qir Fertilizers next Tuesday in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The club will hope to maintain their strong start to the campaign while simultaneously working behind the scenes to address the defensive gap created by El-Gazzar’s injury.
