South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs have selected Angola defender as the club’s new captain, marking a pivotal leadership change for the Soweto outfit under coach Nasreddine Nabi.
The 29-year-old joined the Soweto giants last summer from Angola’s Petro Luanda and swiftly established himself not only as one of the top defenders, but also as a true leader on the pitch.
Inacio Miguel played a pivotal role last season, helping Kaizer Chiefs to end their 10-year trophy drought after defeating rivals Orlando Pirates in the final to lift the South African FA Cup title.
Having proven his leadership qualities, he has been handed with the captaincy ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign.
The Angola defender is contracted to Kaizer Chiefs until summer 2027 and is expected to performance above his level with his new role at the club.
Under the guidance of the Tunisian coach, the Soweto giants are gearing up for the upcoming football season. The club recently returned from a preseason tour in the Netherlands before taking on Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup, losing 3-2 on penalties to the Ghanaian outfit.
