South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs have successfully secured the acquisition of Portuguese forward Flávio Silva in the ongoing summer transfer window.
As earlier reported by AfricaSoccer.com, the Soweto giants has completed the signing of the enterprising attacker on a permanent deal, bringing an end to a remarkable spell at Indonesian club Persebaya Surabaya.
Silva leaves Persebaya Surabaya as the team topscorer, racking up 23 goals in 29 matches. He expected to play a huge role for the side in the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign
“We are pleased to announce the signing of Portuguese striker Flávio Silva from Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia. The Guinea Bissau-born player will wear jersey” wrote the club on X, formerly known as Twitter while unveiling the forward.
With his wealth of experience, the 29-year-old attacker is expected to contribute significantly towards the success of the club in the upcoming campaign.
Flávio, born in Guinea-Bissau, moved to Portugal at a young age, where he began his football journey at the Sporting academy and later obtained Portuguese citizenship.
Kaizer Chiefs are bolstering their squad for the 2025/26 campaign in an attempt to compete for laurels. Despite ending their trophyless run, the Soweto giants missed out on the top eight in the South African top-flight, prompting swift squad augmentation for the new campaign.
