South African giants Orlando Pirates is eyeing German tactician Marco Rose for the vacant coaching job ahead of the new season.
The Soweto giants are currently without a substantive gaffer following the departure of Jose Rivero. The Spanish trainer ended his three-year spell with Pirates at the end of the recently concluded campaign to join Al Ahly.
Since his departure, Pirates has been hunting for a new trainer to take over the coaching job as the team gear up for the new campaign.
According to reports, Pirates top target is the experienced German tactician, who recently parted ways with RB Leipzig.
Pirates sees him as the ideal candidate, but there’s one major hurdle: his salary expectations could be out of reach for the Buccaneers.
Rose is a manager of elite caliber, and his financial demands far exceed the sums the club typically allocates for its coaching staff.
So far, negotiations have not progressed, and Rose remains a long shot. However, the mere mention of his name in this context highlights the club’s bold ambitions.
It’s worth noting that the Buccaneers plan to hold their preseason training camp in Germany, hinting at a strong intention to put their trust in a European manager.
