South Africa Premiership outfit Durban City have settled on former Chippa United gaffer Sinethemba Badela as their new head coach.
Badela replaces Gavin Hunt, who was shown the door at the Durban club after string of poor results despite a good start in the top-flight.
“Durban City FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Sinethemba Badela as the club’s new Head Coach,” the club confirmed on X.
“Coach Badela brings valuable top-flight experience and a modern, progressive approach to the game, with a strong focus on youth development.
“We welcome him to the Citizens family as we continue to build towards an exciting future. Welcome to Durban City, Coach Badela.”
Badela, is in his second stint as a head coach, having started his coaching career as Mamelodi Sundowns reserve team coach.
He joined Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Casablanca in Morocco as his assistant after serving the Chloorkop-based side a season earlier.
After Mokwena’s departure to MC Alger in the off-season, Badela started his stint as Chippa United coach and only took charge of two games in Gqeberha before leaving the side.
