Montpellier faced a tough challenge in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France, narrowly defeating the modest Bourg-Péronnas team by a score of two goals to 1. The goals were scored by Souleymane Camara (Montpellier) in the 33rd minute and Emanuel Herrera (Montpellier) in the 6th minute. Bourg-Péronnas managed to score through Y. Di Tommaso in the 62nd minute via a penalty kick. The victory sees Montpellier advance in the competition.
