Morocco forward Soufiane Rahimi scored twice for Al Ain
Moroccan international Soufiane Rahimi delivered another outstanding performance as Al Ain defeated Al Jazira 4-1 in the President’s Cup final to complete a historic domestic double.
The Moroccan striker was the decisive figure in the final on May 22, 2026, producing a rapid two-goal burst that transformed the match after Al Ain had fallen behind early in the contest.
Al Jazira initially took control through a free-kick from former France international Nabil Fekir, giving the opposition an early advantage and threatening to disrupt Al Ain’s ambitions of ending the season with another trophy.
However, Rahimi quickly changed the direction of the final with a devastating spell of attacking football.
The 29-year-old first equalised on a fast counter-attack, finishing clinically after exploiting space behind the Al Jazira defence. Only minutes later, he struck again after connecting with a precise assist from Kaku to complete a remarkable turnaround.
Rahimi’s double placed Al Ain firmly in control of the match and laid the foundation for a dominant victory. Further goals from Traore and Erik completed the emphatic scoreline as Al Ain secured the President’s Cup title in convincing fashion.
The triumph also confirmed a memorable campaign for the club, who had already claimed the league title without suffering defeat. Completing both the championship and cup success underlined Al Ain’s dominance throughout the domestic season.
Rahimi has been one of the standout performers for the club in recent months, consistently delivering decisive contributions in major matches.
His latest display further strengthened his reputation as one of the most dangerous attacking players in Gulf football.
The Moroccan forward’s pace, movement and finishing once again proved difficult for defenders to contain, with his influence in the final ultimately changing the outcome of the match.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Rahimi’s excellent form also provides encouragement for Morocco coach Mohammed Ouahbi ahead of the tournament.
Having continued to shine at club level, the Al Ain star appears to be arriving at a crucial stage of the international calendar in strong condition and full confidence following one of the most successful seasons of his career.
