Tottenham Hotspur forward Dominic Solanke has praised the club’s supporters after Thursday night’s 3-1 win over Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League semi-final first leg.
The result gives Spurs a two-goal cushion heading into next week’s return fixture in Norway, where they aim to secure a place in the final of a European competition for the first time since 2019.
Despite inconsistency in the Premier League, Ange Postecoglou’s side delivered a commanding performance at home, driven by energy from the stands and a clinical edge in front of goal.
Solanke, of Nigerian descent, highlighted the impact of the home crowd and how it inspired the team to start strong and sustain momentum.
“The fans made the atmosphere great from the start. We were all pumped, I’m sure they were too, and to get that early goal was surreal really,” Solanke said.
“That’s what the fans can do, you know, when we’re all together as one — players, fans — it feels so special.”
Solanke, who converted a penalty in the second half, continued his impressive goalscoring form with strikes in back-to-back games.
He described the moment as deeply satisfying.
“It was another nice penalty, great to get another goal in a big game like this, delighted,” he said. “Playing in these games is what we all dream of and scoring is even better.”
Looking ahead, the 27-year-old called on fans to replicate their support when Spurs travel to the Arctic Circle for the second leg.
“Conditions over there will be different… but we’ll prepare just as hard,” he said. “Yeah, look, 100% we all want to win trophies… hopefully we can do it.”
