Russian club Sochi has clarified its position on the future of Moroccan full-back Yahya Attiat-Allah, currently on loan at Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Despite ongoing speculation about a possible permanent move, Sochi insists that no formal discussions have taken place.
Andrey Orlov, Sochi’s sporting director, told Yalla Kora that Al Ahly has not approached the Russian club to activate the purchase option for Attiat-Allah, whose loan deal expires at the end of the current season in June.
“Al Ahly has not contacted us regarding the activation of Yahya Attiat-Allah’s purchase clause after the end of his loan,” Orlov said.
“No other clubs have reached out to us about signing Yahya Attiat-Allah following the conclusion of his loan to Al Ahly.”
Orlov also confirmed that the 30-year-old defender will be eligible to represent Al Ahly at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
This reassurance comes amid fan concerns over the player’s availability for the tournament, which is set to be held later this year.
Attiat-Allah joined Al Ahly from Sochi on a season-long loan to strengthen the left side of the Cairo-based club’s defense.
He has since made 19 appearances across all competitions, playing a total of 1,586 minutes, scoring one goal, providing three assists, and picking up two yellow cards.
As the end of the season approaches, it remains unclear whether Al Ahly will move to make the loan permanent or if the player will return to Sochi.
However, Orlov’s comments suggest that no concrete steps have been taken towards a transfer, leaving Attiat-Allah’s future uncertain.
With the Club World Cup on the horizon, the Moroccan international will be looking to make his mark and potentially boost his market value, whether with Al Ahly or back in Russia.
