The top scorer of the national team, Islam Slimani, has vanished from the spotlight since the return of the Greens last Wednesday from Côte d’Ivoire.
He did not join his Brazilian team, Coritiba, increasing the mystery surrounding his future with the club.
Slimani remains contracted to Coritiba until the end of December 2024.
Brazilian media reports indicate that Coritiba’s management has been unable to communicate with the player.
Other reports suggest that Slimani is negotiating with new teams.
Notably, he possesses a clause in his contract allowing him to depart without the team’s permission if they fall to the second division.
The player’s respite ends this Wednesday, and if he does not travel to Brazil, it indicates his decision to choose a new destination.
