Sint-Truiden are weighing up a move for Cameroonian goalkeeper Blondy Nna Noukeu, who is currently on the books at newly promoted Premier League side Sunderland.

The 23-year-old finds himself facing increased competition for the No.1 shirt following Sunderland’s busy summer in the transfer market.

With limited opportunities in sight, Noukeu is believed to be exploring options that could offer him more regular first-team football.

Sint-Truiden are readying an approach worth around €200,000 in the hope of persuading Sunderland to part ways with the player.

The Belgian side are not alone in their interest, however, as Championship outfits Derby County and Sheffield United are also keeping close tabs on the Cameroonian.

Noukeu, valued at €150,000 on Transfermarkt, endured a quiet season last term, making just four appearances for Sunderland’s reserve team.

Despite his limited involvement, the young goalkeeper remains highly regarded for his potential and experience across several European leagues.

A return to Belgium would represent familiar territory for Noukeu, who came through the academy ranks at Royal Excel Mouscron before a stint at Stoke City in England.

His Sunderland contract runs until June 2026, giving the club some leverage in negotiations, though a reasonable offer could open the door to his departure.

For Sint-Truiden, the addition of Noukeu would strengthen their goalkeeping department as they seek greater stability between the posts.

His age and pedigree make him a longer-term prospect, while the Belgian club’s willingness to invest suggests they view him as a key asset.

Sunderland, meanwhile, remain focused on their Premier League campaign, with their second-round fixture against Burnley approaching.

Managerial priorities will likely dictate Noukeu’s future, as the club weigh the need for squad depth against the goalkeeper’s own ambitions for more consistent playing time.

What is clear is that Noukeu’s name is firmly on the radar across Belgium and England.

Whether Sint-Truiden succeed in their pursuit or face stronger competition from the Championship remains to be seen, but the Cameroonian looks set for a defining decision in his career this summer.
