Ghanaian striker Augustine Okrah is poised to part ways with Tanzanian club Simba SC, where he signed a two-year contract last year following his standout performances in the Ghana Premier League with Bechem United.
While Okrah made an immediate impact upon joining Simba SC, showcasing his scoring prowess with a goal in a pre-season friendly against Egyptian club Ismaily SC, he has encountered difficulties and is now on the brink of departing the club.
The 29-year-old has found limited opportunities with Simba, prompting discussions of terminating his contract prematurely due to its underwhelming trajectory.
Okrah rose to prominence during his debut season with Bechem United in the 2013/14 campaign, where he impressed with an impressive tally of 16 goals. His remarkable goal-scoring exploits not only secured him the top scorer accolade in the championship but also earned him recognition as the player of the season.
Following his successful stint with Bechem United, Okrah embarked on a loan spell with Swedish club BK Hacken before venturing to Sudanese football, first with Al Merreikh and subsequently with rival club Al Hilal Omdurman. Throughout his career, Okrah has plied his trade with various clubs, including spells with NorthEast United in India and Smouha SC in Egypt.
