DR Congo striker Silas Katompa Mvumpa has silenced swirling transfer rumors by reaffirming his deep affection for VfB Stuttgart, despite his recent move to Red Star Belgrade.
Silas, who joined Stuttgart five years ago, admits his journey at the German club had its ups and downs. Seeking more game time, he transitioned to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade this summer—a move that sparked unexpected transfer speculation.
In an interview with Sky’s Dennis Bayer, Silas expressed his surprise at the rumors: “I never planned to leave VfB. When I heard I might switch clubs, it caught me off guard.”
He emphasized his loyalty to Stuttgart: “I love this club dearly. They’ve given me so much, and I believe the fans know how deeply I value them.”
Currently thriving at Red Star, Silas has tallied three goals and one assist in six Serbian Super Liga appearances while showcasing his talent on the Champions League stage. Despite the move, his heart remains with Stuttgart, proving that home is where the heart is.
