Sierra Leonean defender Juma Bah is keen to be included in Manchester City’s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
The 18-year-old, who joined City from Real Valladolid in January, is currently on loan at French side RC Lens but hopes to be part of Pep Guardiola’s plans for the prestigious tournament.
According to The Sun, Bah sees the Club World Cup as an opportunity to showcase his abilities and integrate into City’s first team.
While Lens is eager to extend his loan deal into next season, the young defender is more focused on returning to England and establishing himself at the Etihad Stadium.
Bah further enhanced his reputation last week with an impressive performance for Sierra Leone in their international fixture against Egypt. His solid defensive display has fueled speculation about whether City will recall him ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite not yet making an appearance for Manchester City, the highly rated teenager is determined to prove himself under Guardiola. His versatility and composure on the ball make him a promising prospect for the club’s future defensive plans.
City, who secured their Club World Cup spot by winning the UEFA Champions League last two seasons, will be competing in the expanded tournament, which takes place in the United States in June and July 2025.
With several key squad decisions to be made before then, Bah will be hoping his recent performances earn him a chance to be part of the traveling squad.
