Sierra Leone has announced a 25-man squad for the final two fixtures in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, where they will face Chad and Zambia. The Leone Stars, under head coach Amidu Karim, are aiming to secure critical points in both matches as they continue their pursuit of a place at AFCON Morocco 2025.

The Leone Stars will first travel to Chad for an away fixture on November 13, followed by a home clash with Zambia on November 19.

Currently positioned third in their group with four points, Sierra Leone must achieve victories in both matches to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Zambia leads Sierra Leone by three points, while group leader Ivory Coast holds nine points.

Coach Karim has called on experienced talents as well as emerging players, highlighting the returns of Kei Kamara and Alhaji Kamara.

Both players bring valuable experience and attacking prowess to the squad, which will be crucial in matches that could determine Sierra Leone’s future in the tournament.

In previous matches, Sierra Leone’s campaign has faced challenges, but they remain in contention for a spot at AFCON.

Winning both upcoming matches is essential if they are to close the gap on Zambia and Ivory Coast.

While the Leone Stars have shown resilience, they now face the pressure of performing under high stakes.

The inclusion of Kei Kamara, one of Sierra Leone’s most accomplished players, is expected to boost the team’s morale and scoring potential.

Alhaji Kamara, known for his speed and skill, will also be looked upon to provide additional attacking options.

Coach Karim’s squad selection signals an intent to leverage experience alongside emerging talent, with the goal of fielding a balanced and effective lineup.

Sierra Leone’s journey to qualification has brought moments of promise but also underscored the competitive nature of their group.

The clash with Chad represents a crucial opportunity to build momentum, while the home game against Zambia could prove decisive.

Fans and analysts alike view these matches as the Leone Stars’ chance to assert their strength and capitalize on their remaining opportunities to qualify.

With both games on the horizon, the Leone Stars’ squad selection and preparation will be key as they aim to make a mark on the road to Morocco.

The team’s resilience, leadership, and tactical performance will be closely watched as they step onto the field for what could be their defining moments in the AFCON 2025 qualifying campaign.
