Sidy Koumé begins new chapter with FK Auda

Senegalese striker Sidy Koumé has joined Latvian top-flight side FK Auda on a long-term contract, giving the 19-year-old a fresh opportunity to continue his development in Europe.

FK Auda confirmed the arrival of Koumé as the club continues to strengthen its squad. The move will see the young forward compete in the Virslīga, marking his first experience of Latvia’s highest division.

Koumé arrives with experience from several different countries despite his young age. He began his development with Spanish club CD Leganés before moving on in search of more opportunities and a new challenge.

His career then took him to the United Arab Emirates, where he had a short spell with Elite Falcons. From there, the Senegalese striker continued his journey in Portugal, joining UD Santarém in the country’s third tier.

During his time with Santarém, Koumé made 17 appearances and scored two goals. That experience provided him with further exposure to senior football before his latest move to Latvia.

His transfer to FK Auda represents the fourth country in which he has played during his young career. After experiences in Spain, the Emirates and Portugal, he will now begin a new chapter in the Latvian top flight.

The move is also an opportunity for Koumé to gain greater playing experience and continue developing his qualities as a forward. At 19, the striker remains at an important stage of his career, with regular football expected to be central to his progress.

FK Auda will be hoping the Senegalese forward can bring his pace and finishing ability to their attack. The Latvian club sees Koumé’s qualities as an asset as he adapts to a new league and a different football environment.

For Koumé, the immediate objective will be to settle into his new surroundings, earn playing opportunities and make an impression in the Virslīga.

His move to Latvia adds another chapter to a career that has already taken him across three countries before reaching the age of 20. The challenge now is to turn that varied experience into consistent performances for FK Auda.
