Anatoly Konkov, the president of the Ukrainian Federation, has expressed interest in having retired Ukrainian footballer Andrei Shevchenko take on the role of coach for the national team. Konkov believes Shevchenko, with his experience and character, is capable of succeeding in managing the national team. Shevchenko, who recently retired at the age of 35, had a successful career, including stints at Dynamo Kyiv and AC Milan. He is Ukraine’s all-time leading goal scorer with 48 goals in 111 international appearances. Despite retiring, Shevchenko has expressed his desire to become involved in politics, his second passion.
