Shebbo to Diaz: Homeland does not require bargaining
Former Moroccan international Youssef Shebbo has directed a message to Ibrahim Diaz, the striker for Real Madrid, before making his final decision regarding the national team he will represent between Morocco and Spain.
Shebbo posted a picture of Diaz on his Instagram story, along with two images of Moroccan and Spanish passports, commenting, “Representing the homeland does not require waiting or bargaining.”
The same speaker, who currently serves as a sports analyst, added, “Morocco is great with all that it encompasses and whoever wishes to be part of it,” alongside images of three Moroccan flags.
As previously reported by “Hesport,” Diaz has not provided any response to either the Royal Moroccan Football Federation or the Spanish Football Federation as of yet.
Diaz has requested additional time from the football federation to make his decision, while completing the administrative procedures that would allow him to defend the “Atlas Lions” jersey.
A source told “Hesport” that Diaz is facing significant pressure from Spanish federation officials, with the temptation of participating in the upcoming edition of the European Cup.
However, his relationship with Luis de la Fuente, the coach of the Spanish national team, is not favorable, which is a factor favoring the Moroccan side.
It is worth noting that Ibrahim Diaz is of Moroccan descent and is greatly impressed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s project and what the “Atlas Lions” achieved in the recent World Cup.
