Shakhtar Donetsk and Sporting CP level at half-time in goalless Champions League contest

Shakhtar Donetsk and Sporting CP were locked at 0-0 in a fiercely contested first half on matchday four of the Champions League, with the sides heading towards the changing rooms level in the 44th minute.

The Ukrainian side had enjoyed more of the ball, registering 56% possession, and also held the advantage in corner-kicks, leading 3-1.

Sporting CP, however, looked the more threatening team in the attacking areas despite having less possession. The Portuguese side recorded four shots on goal, compared with two for their opponents.

Both teams therefore still have everything to play for after the break, but will need to be more clinical if they are to claim victory.
