Spanish club Sevilla have decided not to permanently sign Belgian midfielder of Congolese descent Albert Sambi Lokonga on a permanent deal.
The La Liga club signed the youngster from English Premier League outfit Arsenal last summer.
At Sevilla, Albert Sambi Lokonga suffered a number of injury setbacks and as a result could not play as many games as he would have wanted.
However, in the 22 appearances that the midfielder made, he impressed with his performances and often made a mark.
With the season coming to an end in the next few weeks, sources have disclosed that Sevilla have decided not to make the loan signing of the player permanent.
As a result, Albert Sambi Lokonga will return to Arsenal at the end of the campaign. On his return, the player and his representatives will meet with Arsenal officials to look at the best way forward.
He would likely be shipped out on another loan. If a club expresses interest to sign Lokonga permanently too, Arsenal will be willing to comply for the right fee.
