Brahim Diaz will not feature in Morocco’s upcoming friendly matches against Tunisia and Benin after picking up a muscle injury with Real Madrid.
The attacking midfielder, who had been expected to play a key role in the games set for June 6 and 9 in Fez, will instead remain sidelined as he recovers.
Team doctor Christophe Boudou shared the update via the Royal Moroccan Football Association’s YouTube channel, offering insight into the squad’s overall condition. He noted that many players arrived at the training camp carrying knocks after a demanding club season, which saw most of them feature heavily for their teams.
“The end of the football season was very stressful,” Boudou explained. “Many of our players were regular starters for their clubs, which caused various injuries.”
Boudou confirmed that the medical staff encountered several physical challenges once the camp started and added that Diaz’s issue is more serious than others. “His injury is not recoverable at this time,” he stated, ruling out any chance of his inclusion in the two fixtures.
