Serie A: André-Frank Zambo Anguissa nets winner for Napoli in 1-0 victory over Lecce

Cameroonian midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa scored the winning goal for SSC Napoli on Tuesday in their 1-0 victory against Lecce in the Italian Serie A.

The hardworking midfielder started the game for the defending champions and put up an outstanding performance.

The match came to life in the 54th minute when Lecce were awarded a penalty following a VAR review. Francesco Camarda stepped up to take it, but goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić read his intentions perfectly and produced a superb save to keep the scores level.

Napoli capitalised on that momentum, and in the 69th minute, Anguissa rose highest to meet a free-kick delivery and powered a thunderous header into the left side of the net. It was a long-range header of exceptional quality and proved to be the decisive moment of the match.

Napoli held firm in the closing stages, with Anguissa’s goal ultimately giving them all three points.

Following his goal against Lecce, Anguissa now has four goals and one assist in the Italian Serie A this season after making eight appearances for Napoli.
