Guinean forward Serhou Guirassy has broken his silence after missing out on the prestigious African Ballon d’Or, delivering a heartfelt and defiant message to his supporters.
Taking to his social channels, the 27-year-old shared his gratitude and determination, writing: “Dear brothers and sisters… Even though the African Ballon d’Or was not awarded to me this year, that does not diminish the pride I feel in having upheld the colors of our beloved Guinea. First, I would like to thank my family, my teammates, coaches, friends, and you, my people, for your unwavering support and trust.”
Guirassy reflected on the strength of unity, highlighting its vital role in his journey: “Your love, your strength, and your solidarity carry me every day. I am convinced that this unity and brotherhood must be preserved and cultivated under all circumstances. Together we can achieve great things.”
Ending on an inspirational note, Guirassy vowed to keep pushing boundaries. “This is just the beginning. I will continue to do my best – for you, for our country, and to inspire all young Guineans who dream big. Thank you for everything.”
