Serhou Guirassy’s €50 million release clause in Dortmund contract to become active next summer
The €50 million release clause in Serhou Guirassy’s Borussia Dortmund contract will only become active during next summer’s transfer window, Africasoccer has learned.
Recent media claims hinted at an imminent clause that clubs could trigger in January, but Sport Bild has dismissed those suggestions.
According to the German outlet, the clause is exclusively reserved for a select group of top international clubs and cannot be activated mid-season.
This means Dortmund retain full negotiating power in the upcoming winter window. While the club is reportedly open to offers, their minimum valuation stands at a hefty €80 million.
Guirassy’s brother, who also serves as his agent, is said to have explored interest in Saudi Arabia, where clubs possess the resources to table offers matching Dortmund’s high demands.
While the Guinean has already been linked with several top clubs, including FC Barcelona, he is focused on Borussia Dortmund and hopes to hit top form in the coming weeks.
