Serhou Guirassy getting back to best form with brace in Dortmund’s big win against Villarreal
Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy is gradually getting back to his best after scoring a stunning brace for Borussia Dortmund in their 4-0 thrashing of Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The forward, who has endured a challenging spell in recent weeks, looked rejuvenated throughout the match. His confidence appeared fully restored, offering renewed optimism to both supporters and the Dortmund hierarchy that he may be on the verge of recapturing the sensational form he displayed last season.
However, Serhou Guirassy’s future at the German Bundesliga club remain uncertain.
According to BILD, Guirassy is unlikely to remain at Dortmund beyond the current campaign. However, contrary to circulating rumours, he does not have a release clause that would make a January exit possible, meaning the club faces no threat of losing him mid-season.
Reports suggest the striker is also not considering a winter move. Instead, Guirassy hopes to build consistency, find the net regularly, and set himself up for a significant transfer in the summer. Two pathways are said to be taking shape.
The first is a switch to one of Europe’s elite clubs. With a reported €50 million release clause set to become active next summer, giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are believed to be tracking him. To truly attract these clubs, Guirassy knows he must maintain a high scoring rhythm in the months ahead.
If that move does not materialise, a second option remains firmly on the table, which could see him move to the Saudi Pro League.
The report indicates that his brother, who also serves as his agent, has already presented his profile to interested Saudi clubs. With fees around €80 million considered realistic, a lucrative switch to the Gulf could become a serious possibility.
