Serhou Guirassy fires Borussia Dortmund to dominant Champions League win over Villarreal
Borussia Dortmund claimed their third Champions League group-stage win of the campaign as Serhou Guirassy scored twice in a convincing 4–0 victory over Villarreal.
Guirassy struck the opener in first-half stoppage time when he met an incisive pass from Aaron Anselmio and finished with precision.
The Guinean forward returned from the break with the same intensity and doubled his tally in the 54th minute, converting a penalty at the second attempt to give Dortmund firm control.
Karim Adeyemi added a third goal four minutes later after he created space inside the box and drilled the ball beyond the goalkeeper.
Daniel Svensson then wrapped up the win deep into added time with a composed finish to complete a commanding performance.
Guirassy drove Dortmund’s attack throughout the night and claimed the man-of-the-match award after delivering one of his most decisive European displays of the season.
His brace guided Dortmund to another important result as they strengthened their position in the group.
