Sergio Aguero has singled out Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal as his top young talent in world football today.
The former Argentina and Manchester City striker, who briefly played for Barcelona before his early retirement in 2021, spoke with ESPN and didn’t hold back in his admiration for the 17-year-old winger.
“For me, Lamine Yamal is an amazing player,” Aguero said. “He is a complete player. I don’t watch much football, but when Barcelona play you know he’s a player who makes the difference.”
Aguero may have only featured five times for the LA Ligia champions, but his connection to the club remains strong, especially when it comes to emerging stars like Yamal.
“You are amazed when you watch him play,” he added. “I think Lamine Yamal is a very good and important player. I talked to him several times, and he is a calm person. You have to tip your hat to him.”
Yamal’s rise has caught the attention of football legends, and Aguero’s words only confirm the excitement around the young Spaniard.
