Cheikh Tidiane Sidibé has parted ways with Azam FC, a top-tier Tanzanian club, following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
The Senegalese defender, who joined the club in 2023, expressed dissatisfaction with his performance during his time in Tanzania, prompting the decision to move on.
“As they often say, you have to take a step back to take a step back. Since my arrival in Tanzania, I have noticed a significant drop in my level.
This has pushed me to terminate my contract,” Sidibé stated in comments reported by the Senegalese press.
The 2022 CHAN winner, who played a key role in Senegal’s triumphant campaign, had established himself as a regular starter at Azam FC.
owever, despite his initial success, Sidibé felt that his stint in Tanzania hindered his career progression, leading him to seek new opportunities elsewhere.
Now back in Senegal, the defender is setting his sights on a fresh challenge, preferably in Europe, where he hopes to rejuvenate his career.
“I’m back in Senegal and I hope to find a club by the end of the transfer window to be able to relaunch my career,” Sidibé affirmed.
Having previously shone at FC Teungueth in Senegal, Sidibé has demonstrated his ability to excel on the field.
His departure from Azam FC marks a turning point as he looks to leverage his experience and return to top form with a new club.
As the transfer window nears its conclusion, Sidibé’s search for a new team intensifies.
With his proven track record at the international and club levels, he remains optimistic about finding a suitable platform to reignite his career and make a strong comeback.
