Senegalese winger Demba Seck set for revival with Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade

Senegalese winger Demba Seck set for revival with Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade

Demba Seck is poised for a fresh start in Serbia as he edges closer to a move to Partizan Belgrade, with reports indicating that the Senegalese winger has reached a full agreement with the Serbian club.

The 24-year-old, who once carried high expectations in Italy, has endured a frustrating spell since his transfer to Torino from SPAL in January 2022. Acquired for €3.5 million, Seck was seen as a promising talent with the potential to establish himself in Serie A.

However, his time in the Italian top flight has been marked by inconsistency and a lengthy goal drought that has significantly stalled his progress.

Seck’s struggles at Torino saw him fall down the pecking order, and subsequent loan spells to Frosinone and Catanzaro failed to reignite his form. Remarkably, the last time Seck found the back of the net was on 21 September 2021 during his time at SPAL — a drought that now spans 82 competitive appearances across three clubs.

Despite featuring regularly, the winger has been unable to add to his scoring tally, a statistic that continues to shadow his otherwise promising early career.

Once capped by the Senegal national team in a friendly against Bolivia in September 2022, Seck has since faded from the international picture. But with time still on his side, a move to a new environment may offer the reset he desperately needs.

According to Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport, Partizan Belgrade has identified Seck as a key target and negotiations have progressed swiftly. The two parties are believed to have reached a complete agreement, though details remain unclear regarding the structure of the transfer.

It is yet to be confirmed whether Seck will join the Serbian giants on a permanent deal or on loan from Torino, where he remains under contract until the summer of 2026.

For Seck, a move to Belgrade could provide the platform to rediscover the form that once made him one of Senegal’s most exciting attacking prospects.

Partizan, one of the most successful and historic clubs in Serbian football, are preparing for a campaign in the UEFA Europa League — a competition that could give Seck the exposure and competitive edge he has missed in recent years.

Despite his underwhelming goal record, the winger’s versatility, left-footed strength, and work ethic continue to appeal to clubs seeking to rejuvenate their attacking options. Partizan’s interest suggests that they see potential in Seck’s profile, possibly as a winger or second striker within their system.

A move to Serbia, away from the intense scrutiny of Serie A, may also provide a less pressured environment in which Seck can rebuild his confidence. Known for developing and reviving the careers of underperforming talents, Partizan could be the ideal destination for a player eager to prove his worth again on the pitch.

If the deal is finalised, Seck will look to begin a new chapter in Belgrade with hopes of reigniting a career that has not yet lived up to its early promise — and perhaps writing a comeback story both club and country will take notice of.
