Senegalese teenage Bara Sapoko Ndiaye could be set for his first competitive appearance for Bayern Munich when the Bavarians face TSG Hoffenheim next Sunday in the German Bundesliga.
The 18-year-old Senegalese talent joined Bayern at the beginning of January in a move that caught many by surprise, with the German giants securing his services on loan from Gambinos Stars Africa in Gambia until the summer of 2026. The deal was seen as part of Bayern’s long-term vision to invest in emerging African talent.
Ndiaye’s start to life in Munich was delayed after he spent several weeks undergoing rehabilitation work. However, a major milestone was reached on Tuesday when the young midfielder took part in his first training session with the Bayern Munich first team under head coach Vincent Kompany.
According to German outlet Bild, Ndiaye joined his teammates for the warm-up and the opening phase of the session before continuing his work individually on a nearby pitch. The gradual integration is viewed as a careful approach by the coaching staff as they assess his readiness for top-flight football.
Despite his age, Ndiaye is eligible to feature for Bayern’s senior side due to his status as a non-EU player, although regulations prevent him from representing the club’s amateur or youth teams.
With his first-team exposure now underway, attention will be firmly on whether Kompany includes the promising Senegalese teenager in the matchday squad against Hoffenheim.
