Senegalese officials assigned to RS Berkane’s CAF confederation cup clash in South Africa
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a team of Senegalese referees to oversee the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup group stage match between Morocco’s RS Berkane and South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC.
The game is scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 PM local time at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, a venue with a natural grass pitch.
International referee Issa Sy will take charge as the match official, supported by assistant referees Djibril Kamara and Noha Bankura.
Haji Mamadou Sy has been named as the fourth official, while Mauritania’s Ahmed Nasser Hossam will serve as the match observer.
RS Berkane, often referred to as “The Volcano,” enters the match in strong form, having secured three points in their opening fixture with a victory over Angola’s Lunda Sul.
Meanwhile, their South African opponents, Stellenbosch FC, are looking to recover after suffering a 2–0 loss to Financial Stadium Club in the first round.
This encounter marks a critical opportunity for both sides to solidify their positions in the group standings.
RS Berkane will aim to maintain their momentum and strengthen their campaign for continental glory, while Stellenbosch will seek redemption on home soil.
The match is expected to attract significant attention as the two teams face off under the watchful eyes of an experienced Senegalese officiating crew.
