Lamine Camara says he has found both physical sharpness and mental clarity as the AS Monaco midfielder enters the final stretch of the Ligue 1 season in strong form.
The Senegalese international has emerged as a key figure in Monaco’s midfield in recent weeks, delivering assured performances and helping his side to vital wins over top-tier opposition. Speaking ahead of Monaco’s upcoming encounter with Strasbourg, Camara reflected on his recent progress and expressed a desire to maintain consistency across every match.
“I’m finishing the season well, it’s true, and now I’d like to be able to perform like that in every game,” he said. “There have been ups and downs throughout the campaign, but at this moment, I feel good—both physically and mentally—thanks to my teammates and the coaching staff. I just need to keep going with this rhythm for the last five matches.”
Camara’s recent displays have played a key role in Monaco’s push to solidify their standing in the league, with back-to-back victories against Nice and Marseille injecting fresh confidence into the squad. The 21-year-old believes those results have had a significant psychological effect on the group.
“Beating top teams like Nice and Marseille, especially at home, did a lot for our morale,” Camara added. “Those wins reminded us of our quality and what we’re capable of when we play with intensity and focus.”
Looking ahead to Saturday’s clash, Camara warned against underestimating a youthful and energetic Strasbourg side currently sitting fifth in the table. “Strasbourg is a young team, very dynamic, and full of potential,” he noted. “We’ve studied their last few games and they’ve been very strong. They’ve got quality all over the pitch.”
Despite Strasbourg’s reputation for fast, attacking football, Camara emphasized that Monaco are equally well-prepared and confident in their own strengths.
“We’ve been preparing seriously for this match, as we always do. The key will be to respect our opponents and stay sharp from the first minute,” he said. “It’s about showing our own identity and making sure we impose our game on them, not the other way around.”
With just five matches remaining, Monaco are looking to close out their season on a high note. Camara believes that staying grounded and focusing on one match at a time will be crucial to achieving that goal.
“The goal is to stay consistent,” he said. “We’ve worked hard to get into this position, and now it’s about maintaining that level. Every training session, every match matters. We have to stay committed and focused until the very end.”
As Camara continues to grow into his role within the team, both club and country will be watching closely. For now, though, his attention is solely on Strasbourg—and the opportunity to keep Monaco’s momentum alive.
