Almería have turned down two firm transfer offers for Senegalese midfielder Dion Lopy, underlining their determination to keep hold of one of their key assets for the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Spanish side from Stade de Reims in 2023, has emerged as a target for several European clubs during the current transfer window.
Despite concrete approaches, including bids from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice and an unnamed Premier League club, Almería have rejected all advances for the highly rated midfielder.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, both recent offers were swiftly dismissed by the Andalusian outfit, who view Lopy as an integral part of their squad as they aim for promotion back to La Liga.
These latest proposals follow an earlier offer from Real Betis, reportedly valued at around €6 million, which was also declined outright.
Almería’s stance has been consistent: Dion Lopy is not for sale unless a significantly higher bid is presented. Club sources have indicated that any serious negotiations would only be considered if the offers fall in the region of €15 to €18 million.
Lopy, who is under contract until 2029, remains fully committed to the club and continues to train with the team in preparation for the new campaign.
Despite mounting interest, there is no sign of disruption on the player’s part, and he is expected to feature prominently in Almería’s push for a swift return to the Spanish top flight.
Additional interest reportedly came from Stade Brestois, who proposed a loan deal with an option to buy. That offer, too, was declined by Almería, reinforcing their clear intent to retain their top talent.
Having been relegated from La Liga last season, Almería are determined to bounce back at the first attempt. Club officials believe that holding onto core players like Lopy will be crucial to achieving that objective.
The Senegalese international has impressed with his work rate, composure, and tactical discipline, traits that have made him indispensable in Almería’s midfield setup.
Lopy’s value has soared since his move from France, and Almería’s firm rejection of multiple offers reflects both the player’s importance and the club’s long-term ambitions.
While the window remains open, there is currently no indication that Almería will soften their stance unless a considerably improved offer is submitted.
As it stands, Lopy is poised to continue his development in Spain, with his immediate future firmly tied to Almería. His performances will be closely watched by suitors across Europe, but for now, he remains a cornerstone of the club’s plans for the new season.
