Pape Habib Gueye has completed a move from Aberdeen to Kasımpaşa, signing a four-year contract with the Turkish Super Lig side.
The 25-year-old Senegalese forward, who previously featured in leagues across Norway, Belgium, and Scotland, will continue his professional journey in Turkey.
His new deal with the Istanbul-based club runs until 2029, and he will team up with compatriot Mamadou Fall, the seasoned 33-year-old striker who is set to begin his fifth campaign in the Turkish top flight.
Gueye’s spell at Aberdeen proved to be a turbulent chapter in his career.
Having joined the Scottish Premiership side from Belgian outfit Kortrijk in the summer of 2023, the former Darou Salam Academy talent struggled to make an impact in his initial months in Scotland.
Seeking regular game time and a return to form, Gueye was loaned to Kristiansund BK in Norway—a league he was already familiar with.
His time there proved fruitful, as he regained both confidence and sharpness in front of goal.
That resurgence saw him return to Aberdeen with renewed ambition ahead of the 2024–25 season, where he started brightly and looked set for a breakout campaign.
However, his momentum was abruptly halted by an injury that disrupted his season and limited his ability to make a sustained impact at Pittodrie.
Now fully fit, Gueye is looking for a fresh start in Istanbul with Kasımpaşa, commonly known as the Apaches.
His arrival bolsters the club’s attacking options and adds pace, physicality, and aerial strength to their frontline.
The Senegalese striker will hope to rediscover the form that once made him a sought-after prospect in Belgium, where he scored consistently for Kortrijk, and in Norway, where his stint with Aalesunds FK first brought him to European attention.
Gueye’s move to Turkey also represents a potential revival of his career on a new stage, in a league that has increasingly become home to African talents seeking both competitive football and visibility.
At Kasımpaşa, the forward will not only have the chance to adapt quickly with Fall by his side, but also the platform to reignite his promise as he enters what should be the peak years of his playing career.
