Senegalese forward Pape Habib Gueye has completed a move to Turkish side Kasımpaşa, signing a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The 25-year-old departs Aberdeen following a challenging two-year spell in Scotland, where he struggled to establish himself in the first team.
His transfer to the Süper Lig marks the latest chapter in a career that has already taken him across four different countries in Europe.
After starting his professional journey at Norway’s Aalesunds FK, Gueye caught attention for his physical presence and aerial ability.
His performances paved the way for a move to Belgian club KV Kortrijk, where he continued to develop before joining Aberdeen in the summer of 2023.
However, his transition to the Scottish Premiership proved to be a difficult one.
Gueye’s initial months in Aberdeen were marked by inconsistency and limited opportunities.
In a bid to regain form and confidence, he returned to Norway on loan with Kristiansund, where he quickly rediscovered his rhythm in familiar surroundings.
His strong performances during the loan stint rekindled hope of a successful return to Aberdeen, and he began the 2024-2025 season on a positive note.
Unfortunately, just as his form was improving, Gueye’s momentum was halted by an untimely injury, effectively derailing his campaign and limiting his chances of making a lasting impact at Pittodrie.
With both player and club keen on a fresh start, Kasımpaşa emerged as the ideal destination.
At the Istanbul-based club, Gueye will reunite with fellow Senegalese striker Mamadou Fall.
The veteran forward is preparing to enter his fifth season with the Apaches and is expected to play a key mentorship role alongside the younger Gueye.
The pair are anticipated to form a dynamic attacking partnership in Kasımpaşa’s frontline.

Gueye’s move is seen as an opportunity for him to reboot his career in a competitive league that has often provided a platform for African talents to shine.
Kasımpaşa’s management believes the Senegalese forward’s blend of strength, aerial prowess, and work ethic will bolster their attacking options as they aim for a solid campaign in the Süper Lig.
For Gueye, the switch to Türkiye represents a chance to finally settle and fulfill the potential that has seen him traverse European leagues in search of consistency and form.
