Senegalese international Moussa Koné has signed a two-year contract with Moroccan side Olympique de Safi, with the transfer valued at €340,000, split across the duration of his stay — €160,000 in the first season and €180,000 in the second.

The 28-year-old striker, a product of the Sacré-Cœur academy in Dakar, arrives in Morocco with an extensive résumé shaped by his years in European football.

Known for his speed, composure, and eye for goal, Koné is expected to add a much-needed attacking threat to Olympique de Safi’s front line as they look to bolster their ambitions in the Moroccan top flight.

Koné’s professional journey has seen him traverse several countries and leagues. He first rose to prominence at FC Zurich in Switzerland, where he made a lasting impression with standout performances in domestic competitions, particularly the Swiss Cup. From there, he moved to Germany with Dynamo Dresden, where his goal-scoring instincts quickly made him a fan favourite.

His next stop was France, where he featured for Nîmes Olympique, bringing pace and agility to the Ligue 1 side’s attack. A subsequent spell with Austrian outfit LASK further broadened his experience before taking on challenges in Slovakia with FC DAC Dunajská Streda. Most recently, Koné turned out for Boavista FC in Portugal’s Primeira Liga, where he added further European appearances to his name.

In total, Koné has amassed close to 250 professional appearances, scoring 83 goals and providing more than 20 assists. His track record includes several outings in European club competitions, giving him a wealth of experience that Olympique de Safi will hope to tap into.

For the Moroccan club, Koné represents more than just a new signing. His arrival is seen as a strategic move to add firepower and leadership to a team looking to rise in competitiveness.

With his versatility in the final third and proven scoring ability, the Senegalese forward could be the key to unlocking tighter defences and turning tight matches in Safi’s favour.

Olympique de Safi’s management views the signing as a statement of intent. In a league where attacking efficiency can make the difference in tight title races or qualification battles for continental tournaments, Koné’s profile fits perfectly with the club’s goals. His presence is also expected to provide mentorship for younger players coming through the ranks.

As the club prepares for the upcoming season, fans will be eager to see how quickly Koné adapts to his new surroundings. Given his track record of settling into new environments and making an immediate impact, expectations are already high.

Moussa Koné’s addition is more than a routine signing — it marks a fresh chapter for both the player and Olympique de Safi, one that could significantly influence the club’s trajectory over the next two years.
