Senegalese international Ibrahima Niane has been suspended from playing football in France for two years.

This comes after the Angers SCO tested positive for ecstasy and MDMA, all banned drugs by the football association.

According to information gathered from L’Équipe, the decision was made on the 31st of March after the forward was unable to justify to the French Anti-Doping body why these drugs were present within his system.

The ban, which took effect on March 31st, will be lifted on March 31st 2027.

In that period, Ibrahima Niane will not be allowed to participate in football in any professional capacity.

The Senegalese forward will also be banned from training and training courses.

The forward has suffered this career setback heading into a summer he was hoping to land a big move.

His contract with Angers will be ending in June and will surely not be extended following the latest development.

This season, he scored three goals for Angers in the French Ligue 1 after making 27 appearances.
