Senegal Ligue 1 Pro: Record-Breaking Goal Tally as Jaraaf and AS Pikine Battle for Title
After 24 matchdays in Senegal’s Ligue 1 Pro, the championship has already witnessed a remarkable 310 goals scored across 168 matches — a significant increase from recent seasons’ average of around 200 goals per campaign.
Current leaders Jaraaf of Dakar have been impressive upfront, boasting the league’s best attack with 32 goals (19 at home and 13 away). Hot on their heels is Casa Sports of Ziguinchor, who have scored 30 goals, excelling particularly on home turf with 21 goals.
At the other end of the spectrum, relegated Yeggo of Sicap have struggled offensively, managing just 12 goals in 24 games. Defensively, Dakar University Club (DUC) have conceded the most goals — 34 — while AS Pikine stand out with the league’s tightest defense, allowing only 11 goals so far.
AS Pikine, currently second with 43 points, remain unbeaten at home this season, closely pursued by Jaraaf, who have lost just once on their home ground. Meanwhile, the Olympians of Ngor finally secured their first away victory of the season on matchday 24, beating Touré Kunda 3-1 despite ongoing salary payment delays.
Out of all 168 games played, 105 have ended in victories — 66 for home teams and 39 for visitors — along with 63 draws. Jaraaf and Pikine lead the pack with 12 wins each, while Yeggo have managed only 2.
With two matches left in the season, the title race remains wide open. Jaraaf and AS Pikine are still neck and neck, but Casa Sports are closing the gap and could potentially leapfrog to second place if their rivals slip up.
