The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) announced the formation of its new High Performance Commission, naming thirteen members with Abdoulaye Fall as chairperson.
Two additions, Demba Ba and Ferdinand Coly, have drawn significant attention from fans and observers alike.
Demba Ba, the former Newcastle and Chelsea striker and current president of Senegal’s second-division club Amitié FC, joins the commission to lend his expertise and experience.
Alongside him, Ferdinand Coly, a key figure from Senegal’s celebrated 2002 squad that reached the Africa Cup of Nations final and played in the country’s first World Cup, returns to the national football scene after years away.
Both former internationals will collaborate with Khalilou Fadiga, another hero of the 2002 generation.
Fadiga, a renowned playmaker, played an influential role in Abdoulaye Fall’s election as FSF president and will now contribute his insight to the development of national football programs.
The commission also features Étienne Mendy, Aïcha Henriette Ndiaye, Ibrahima Nah Diallo, Abdoulaye Fofana Seck, Mayacine Mar—the former national technical director—Mouhamed Djibril Wade, ex-president of the Pro League, Joseph Sambou, Demba Sarr, and Abdoulaye Athie.
Together, the body aims to strengthen Senegal’s football infrastructure, improve player development, and oversee strategies to enhance performance at all levels.
The FSF described the commission as a cornerstone of its long-term vision for national football.
By combining the experience of former players with the expertise of administrators, the federation intends to build a structure capable of supporting both the national teams and the broader football ecosystem in Senegal.
Demba Ba and Ferdinand Coly’s appointments signal a renewed commitment to integrating former players into governance roles and leveraging their knowledge to guide the next generation of Senegalese footballers.
