Senegalese Football Federation Settles Debts with 2013-2014 Season Winners
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has officially cleared all outstanding payments to the winning teams of the 2013-2014 football season. A document released yesterday confirmed that all sums owed to the victorious clubs and teams have now been fully settled.
A total of 41,250,000 FCFA has been distributed among 17 winning teams across various categories, including Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Junior, Cadet, amateur, and women’s football. The largest share of the prize money went to AS Pikine, who claimed both the cup and championship double, receiving 12,500,000 FCFA.
Following AS Pikine, Senegalese Cup runners-up, OL Ngor, were awarded 5,000,000 FCFA. Other notable recipients include ASFA, Ligue 2 champions, and Juniors Africa Foot, both of whom received 3,000,000 FCFA each.
The remaining funds were distributed in smaller amounts, with most teams receiving sums ranging from 2,000,000 FCFA to 1,750,000 FCFA. The smallest payment of 500,000 FCFA was given to the finalists of the national phases.
The settlement of these payments is seen as a positive step toward resolving the lingering controversies surrounding the participation of Olympique de Ngor in the CAF Cup this season. The club had previously been involved in disputes regarding the federation’s financial commitments.
With the debts now settled, the FSF hopes to move forward without further financial distractions and to continue supporting the development of football across the country.
