Senegal international Assane Diao has been ruled out for the rest of the current season after latest injury setback.
The 19-year-old, who plies his trade for Italian outfit Como was diagnosed with a metatarsal fracture. Following a successful surgery on Thursday, the talented forward has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Como acquired Assan Diao from Real Betis this winter for 12 million euros and has since established himself as key member of the team.
In 15 Serie A matches, the talented attacker has racked up eight goals and provided an assists in the process. In all competitions, the forward has made 34 appearances, scoring 10 goals and serving 4 assists across the period.
His injury come as a huge blow to Como, who are seeking to retain their status in the Italian Serie A.
Diao, whose contract expires in the summer of 2029, has made two appearances for the Senegal national team.
